What is a Beauty Pageant?
A beauty contest, or beauty pageant, "is a competition based mainly, though not always entirely, on the physical beauty of its contestants, and often incorporates personality, talent demonstration, and question responses as judged criteria."

What is an Ambassador Program?
Each year the city's Ambassador program will crown young women as good will ambassadors. This program offers young ladies that live, work, worship or attend school in their city. They will have the opportunity to represent their city's festivals and the city during a year long reign. The woman that is crowned their cities Queen, will continue on and participate in Minneapolis Aquatennial Queen of the Lakes Program or the Winter Carnival Program.
